Back to School, Back to You

School is in session. The season is changing, however slowly here in Los Angeles…cooler nights and mornings are just around the corner, YEAH! This change also signals more commitments and less open space on the weekends. Transitioning from lazy summer days to a regimented routine can throw us off balance, both physically and mentally. The result might be poor quality sleep, digestive problems and eventually a lowered immunity, which opens the door for colds and flu. 

Now is the time to be pro-active. Put self-care on the calendar along with the after school activities and work meetings. Slow down, go with the flow and nurture your digestion with foods of the season like pumpkin, squash and fennel. Mindful movement is a great way of combating the mental chatter. Take a nature walk and instead of a fitness goal, focus on a “being” goal.
